An interesting game for Metros (18-7) which played road game in San Francisco against second-best Gigantes (17-9). First ranked Metros managed to get a 4-point victory 89-85. Metros looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for Jhery Matos (196-1996, college: Charlotte) who led his team to a victory with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Anthony Fairley (205-1999, college: Miles, agency: BIG) contributed with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Metros' coach Joel Ramirez used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Charles Brown Jr (198-1997, college: St.Joseph's) answered with 22 points and 7 rebounds for Gigantes. Metros maintains first place with 18-7 record. Gigantes lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the second position with nine games lost.
The game in La Romana supposed to be also worth to mention about. 4th placed Titanes (12-13) played at the court of fifth ranked Caneros (13-13). Caneros smashed Titanes 103-64. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Titanes. Yeison Colome (190-1996) stepped up and scored 39 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds for the winners and Lazar Lugic chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Luis Montero (203-1993, college: South Plains) with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Caneros moved-up to fourth place. Defending champion Titanes dropped to the fifth position with 13 games lost.
The most impressive performance of 9th round was 13 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks by Juan Rosario of Gigantes.
